How to Spot Fake Job Posts on LinkedIn

A credible job post gives you a real employer, a sensible role, a clear application path and enough detail to evaluate the opportunity. Vague promises and pressure to move off-platform deserve caution.

What to pay attention to

Check the company domain, recruiter identity, employee footprint, job history and whether the role appears on the organisation own careers page. Never pay to apply and never share sensitive identity or banking documents early.

A practical way forward

If the opportunity feels urgent but the information stays vague, slow down. A legitimate employer will be able to explain the process, reporting line, location and next step.
